Cafe Anna Blume – Berlin, Germany

anna blume breakfast

Three-tiered breakfast at Cafe Anna Blume in Berlin – you’re welcome.

anna blume ovaltine

Last post of the year and I’m sharing with you one of the largest mugs of hot drink I’ve ever seen – Hot Ovomaltine (€3.60) a.k.a ovaltine in English. Below for a size comparison with a ‘normal’ cup of coffee…it was literally the size of my face!

But the main event was really the Anna Blume Special – a three-tiered breakfast that smacks any high tea out the window. Check out the jam-packed tiers! Available to share for 2 at €18.50, this massive breakfast is a feast for your eyes and stomach alike. The bottom tier consists of super tasty scrambled eggs, as well as a selection of cold cuts and cheeses. Next up (literally) is kind of like an antipasti selection. It’s full of olives, pickled veggies, fresh veggies, salad leaves, sprouts, potato salad…you name it! Then the top tier is a selection of fruit and preserves (oh you also get a whole selection of different breads with this breakfast…!).

Cannot recommend this breakfast experience enough! There’s other fun looking things on the menu too, plus a large area to sit outside if you happen to be in Berlin in the summer. I also think this idea of a three-tiered breakfast is amazing and should be brought over to Sydney…any takers?
