The Mother and I booked the Full Society special offer for 2 courses at $50 to dine at Arras. While our experience at Arras was exceptional, our experience with Full Society was not. I have previously booked with them before and it worked out fine, but upon arrival at Arras we were informed there was no record of our booking. This is entirely Full Society’s fault as it is their responsibility to pass on the reservation to the restaurant and it was embarrassing and disappointing not to have this happen. However, my booking was still on the Full Society website, and having seen this evidence the manager at Arras kindly accommodated us and even gave us the special offer. Too kind! And thumbs up to Arras.

  • What we ate:

The Mother opted for the entree+main combo, while I had the main+dessert combo. The Mother had a kind of deconstructed club sandwich to begin with, followed by a very tasty Curried barramundi. Her only comments were that the club sandwich was a bit too abstract and the fish a bit too salty. I enjoyed the very tender Lamb rump with barley, kale and horseradish, followed by the Chocolate mousse with hazelnuts, which was surprisingly plated and had much more than was advertised on the menu! To end, we had to have the infamous Petit Fours (approx $8 extra). We were presented with a neon orange tray of wonderment, and just as we wracked our brains to figure out what we wanted, the waiter told us we could have as many as we wanted (but the chef advises that everything we take should be eaten). We ended up with a marshmallow on a stick covered in black sesame, peanut brittle, coconut ice and a white chocolate and pistachio praline, and felt very satisfied with our choices.
