I wanted to share these couple of photos of our lunch at PROVISIONS OF ARROWTOWN, a super cute cafe in Arrowtown, New Zealand. You may have read in my previous post that mum and I were staying at Millbrook Resort last week. It’s the most beautiful resort around a golf course, and only about 5 minutes from Arrowtown. Arrowtown itself is a small town by a river, around 20 minutes from Queenstown. There are some nice hikes from there, and interestingly there’s also a historical Chinese settlement from when the Chinese came to mine for gold in the 1800s!
PROVISIONS OF ARROWTOWN is on the main street, but further down from where the shops are. In that sense, it’s a bit off the usual tourist track and we got the feeling this is where the locals come to. The cafe is in a cute cottage with a beautiful garden out the back. It would be lovely to sit there in Summer! We hid away indoors though, as it was an overcast day. They serve some great wholesome food using local produce. Their menu changes daily too!

I went for the soup of the day, which was Carrot and Coriander Soup. It came with a side of fresh bread and olive oil, and seriously it was such tasty soup! I wouldn’t have thought of carrot and coriander being a good soup combination, but it really was. Very warming on a cold Spring day!

Mum went for the ‘breakfast for lunch’ option with the Black Rice Porridge. From memory it was served with some coconut yoghurt and poached pear – delicious! Mum loooved this and I would definitely recommend this for a healthier option.
There were also a bunch of great sandwich options, some pies and most notably, PROVISIONS AT ARROWTOWN is known for their sticky buns. Shame I didn’t get to try one on the day! They also sell some great local produce there, so it’s a good place to pick up a few presents to take home.
