Yaaaaay it’s time for the annual Night Noodle Markets in Hyde Park again! Click through to see our recommendations on what to eat!
We went on a Monday night – highly recommend. Rocking up over an hour after it opened didn’t seem to make a difference, and guess what we spied – a Hoy Pinoy stand without a queue!? Unheard of. So we quickly snapped up our change and got us some chicken skewers (2 for $12).
Speaking of skewers, how ridiculously awesome and cute are these Octodogs ($8) from Harajuku Gyoza? Totally instagrammable, amirite?
I really felt like something soupy and noodley, so we went for the Vegetarian Pho ($10) from Trang’s Kitchen (it’s gluten free too!). Make sure you ask them not to add chilli though, as they put it in by default. It was cool to see Trang’s Kitchen included in a little food truck section!
We were tossing up whether to get the peking duck fries that everyone was raving on about from Bao Stop but in the end, Bao Stop are known for their baos, so we went for the Trifecta ($20) which included 3 different baos. This is quite overpriced in my opinion but I guess a night out at the Noodle Markets isn’t ever going to be a cheap affair!
Yaaaay donuts! And these are ‘good’ for you too as they are baked! Thanks Nutie Donuts!
So excited that I got to try Anna Chan’s awesome little coconut and white chocolate penguin donuts! They’re just way too irresistibly cute, would pick them over a normal donut any day.
Ha, and great advice from this little guy too!
Although DS did point out that the foot placement seemed a little…odd. Feet on yo belly?!
And finally…the jewel in the crown. Gelato Messina always deliver the goods at the Night Noodle Markets with some spectacular creations – not to mention we had a good chuckle at the name of the Very Very Good Lucky Fortune Bar. From the minute the Noodle Market menu was released, I know I needed to have the Matcha Ado About Nothing – milk chocolate and matcha gelato, white chocolate and pistachio crunch with a green tea waffle cone ($8). If you get anything at the Night Noodle Markets – GET THIS. Seriously. The matcha flavour wasn’t overpowering, the white chocolate and pistachio crunch was incredible (kind of reminded me of the Golden Gaytime coating) and who doesn’t like a flavoured waffle cone.
Hope you all got to enjoy the Night Noodle Markets 2016 as well!
