A spot of French café culture in Germany at Métropolitain Café Français.
Of course, you begin your day with a Café au Lait – amirite? It wouldn’t be right to be at a French cafe without doing so.
Cafe culture is quite different in Germany and you have to snoop around a bit to find the good ones. In this case, Métropolitain Café Français is found in a side street off what I guess you’d call a high street, the main street of Eppendorf.
It’s a really cool little cafe with a variety of French pastries on offer as well as ‘German’ and ‘French’ breakfasts. I had the L‘allemand – Salami, Ham, Cheese with Butter, Jams, Baguette, 2 slices of dark bread (€7.90).
Exactly my type of breakfast with a little bit of everything. So yum!
S went for the Scrambled Eggs, made with organic eggs, which comes with some butter as well (€4.80). Really yum scrambled eggs done in a simple, home style way. We didn’t have time for a croissant, but their lunches sound great as well so I’m definitely keen to get back over there.
