Quick mid-week update to tell you about that time I had duck in a croissant for breakfast at Rabbithole in Hong Kong!
Coffee culture hasn’t really taken off in Hong Kong like it has in Sydney, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
Rabbithole used to be located in this prime position along the escalators going up from Central to the Mid-Levels. DS actually discovered it, and spent many hours sipping some bespoke/fancy coffee on the balcony, people watching.
It’s now moved to Wan Chai – it’s in one of the little side streets between Queens Road East and Johnston Road, some of which have really become little hubs of food culture (read about Bo Innovation here).
The focus at Rabbithole is really on the coffee and there is a limited breakfast and lunch menu – BUT LOOK WHAT THEY DO HAVE.
Duck Croissant.
For breakfast.
They also have normal ham and cheese croissants, for those less adventurous.
They also have this interesting contraption that makes coffee.
Put some ground coffee in…stir it around…
Then coffee comes out of the bottom!
And to top off the whole science experiment vibe, it is served to you in a beaker! You then pour it into this awesome glass that is designed to aerate the coffee and ‘keep it moving’.
Rabbithole is lovely for a casual coffee and catch up. They also sell a lot of coffee equipment, should you need some of that. And duck in a croissant is just such a great thing. Why don’t people do it more often?
