Happy Friday everyone!
Today I have for you a fun, unique waffle experience that DS and I had while we were over in Hong Kong a few weeks ago – Waffills in Causeway Bay.
But first – I’m excited to announce the winners of the Menulog x talk&spoon giveaway!
Congratulations to Charlotte Scotton and Victoria Hackland! I will be in contact shortly to send you your vouchers.
Waffills is a tiny little place squished between other equally tiny cafes/restaurants – but most notable it is next to the ever popular Via Tokyo which gets a whole lot of hype for it’s green tea matcha ice creams and other green tea goodies.

I think the concept is so cool – you can go and get your traditional Belgian dessert waffles with amazing ice cream and other toppings OR you could go savoury and get a FILLED waffles. That’s right – the meat is INSIDE the waffle.

There’s a whole range of different flavours – I went for the BBQ Pulled Pork Waffill (HK$ 48) while DS had the Thai Prawn Waffill (HK$52) which is a chef’s recommendation. I really enjoyed mine – but I think it would have been even more amazing if there had been some cheese in the mix! DS’s was pretty unique too – definitely not what you’d expect in a waffle.

Come to think of it though – why hasn’t this been done before?! (Maybe it has and I’ve just been living under a rock…) Because essentially, waffles are just kinda of like bread, so filling them with stuff like a sandwich is a GREAT idea. I’m sad we didn’t have time to try out the sweet waffles as they look amazing – can’t wait to go back next time.
