This has got to be one of the most colourful meals DS and I have ever had! We stumbled upon Something for Jess after trying to eat at Chur Burger and awkwardly being told it had burned down… Something for Jess has not been open long, but it is bright, airy and friendly, the mix of furniture adding to its quaint but relaxed style.

- What we ate:
Basically everything on the menu is organically grown – they grow their own produce out in Kurrajong! No wonder everything looks so bright and tastes phenomenally fresh.
DS went for the Chicken burrito with bean and corn salsa, guacamole, grated cheese, Mexican spiced rice, cream on tortillas ($14) which comes in a quite deconstructed form. I think it’s better to think of it as a salad, so you won’t get annoyed at how hard it is to eat as a burrito. DS still says that it was “very tasty”.
I went for the Smokey eggplant purée with grilled Cypriot haloumi, pickled turnip, double smoked ham and capsicum sauce on toast ($14) – there are just so many things I like happening on that piece of toast at the same time! Ham! Haloumi! Eggplant purée (which I assumed was like eggplant dip)! And what a smashing combination it all was. The purple pickled turnip really topped it off. So many bursts of flavour (and colour)!
Definitely recommend this place – even if it is a little out of the way – for a relaxed coffee or lunch with a twist.
