Cong Sao Dessert – Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

I’m not a massive fan of Asian desserts in general, but one thing I can never resist is tangyuen– glutinous rice flour balls with a variety of fillings, served either hot or cold in a soup. My staple favourite is always the black sesame paste tangyuen in a sweet ginger soup – although to be honest, I usually ignore the soup and just devour the tangyuen. My aunt took me to this dessert place in a side street of the busy Causeway Bay. It specialises in a variety of Asian desserts – my aunt had doufuhua in a black sesame soup, but I spotted many varieties of sago, green tea jelly, something that looked like mango pudding and shaved ice! All this at an extremely affordable price – we payed HK$35, the equivalent of around AU$5!
